Location and maps

The Conference will take place at the Splendid Hotel la Torre, sited via Piano di Gallo, 11, 90151, Palermo - Mondello. The venue is located in the University of Palermo and situated in the small borough of Mondello, between Mount Gallo and Mount Pellegrino with a magnificent beach and the Natural Reserve of Capo Gallo.


Getting to Palermo

By Air

The plane is the easiest and fastest way to get to Palermo. 

The Falcone-Borsellino International Airport is located at Punta Raisi, 19 NM (35 km; 22 mi) west-northwest of Palermo. To see the location of the Airport on a map, please click here.

The airport is connected to the city by a shuttle train service that leaves approximately every half hour (tickets from Punta Raisi to any train station in Palermo, and vice versa, can be bought on the Trenitalia web page). You can also reach the city by the shuttle bus service (Autolinee Prestia e Comandè), taxi (Coop. Trinacria: +39 331 4296956,   +39 0916878; Coop. Autoradio taxi: +39 091513311,   +39 0918481), or by renting a car. A taxi cab is also available at the airport.

By Car

get to Villa San Giovanni, located in the southern part of Calabria, board the car on a ferry to Messina, and finally take the motorway A20 to Palermo.

By Train

The central train station in Palermo is known as Stazione Centrale and is located in Giulio Cesare Square in the Old Town District. By Ferry

Direct connections to the port of Palermo are provided by many ferry companies with ships departing from Cagliari, Civitavecchia, Genoa, Livorno, Milazzo, Naples, and Salerno. Information is available on the GNV and Tirrenia websites.

By Bus
